Member, Democratic Party County Central Committee; County of Sonoma; Supervisorial District 5

We are challenged globally, nationally, and on the grass-roots level, by global warming, wars without end, world-wide food shortages and hunger, health-care shortages, and massive environmental degredation. All of these issues are interconnected, and we can only hope to confront and solve these problems if we begin to act on the local level. My committment is to find, develop, and promote local "social change-agents" and help get them elected to local offices so that they can begin the process at the only level at which we have any control: in our own back yards.

To that end, I am committed to strengthening democracy and the Democratic Party in Sonoma County. I have been reaching out to and organizing grassroots Democrats to help build a movement, and get progressive Democrats elected locally, statewide, and nationally. As part of this process, I actively participate in voter registration campaigns, and in the endorsement processes for local elected offices: Sonoma County Supervisors, school board members, city council members, and board members of local utility districts, water districts, and parks and recreation districts.

When we find and elect these leaders on the local level, we can then promote their election to positions on the state-wide and national level. Imagine the possibilities if local elected officials from around America, committed to climate recovery and ending imperial foreign policy, were elected to national offices? That's my vision.
