Making sure that our General Fund Reserves are at an adequate level to withstand a severe economic downturn is arguably the most important issue concerning our city. Prior City Councils had the foresight and wisdom to establish the General Fund Reserve upon which to draw during difficult economic times. Cities without a financial reserve have had to make service level reductions along with deep budgetary cuts in order to make-ends-meet. I believe in sound fiscal management that not only looks at the current financial situation but being ever mindful of how the decisions of today will affect tomorrow. |
