Candidate StatementBy Todd SpitzerCandidate for Member of the State Assembly; District 71 | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Why I believe you should vote for me...I have been honored to serve you in the California State Legislature. Because of term limits, this election marks my last term as your representative. I have tried to serve you and our community with honor, integrity and perseverance. As you know, the Governor signed my AB 488 which put Megan's Law on the Internet. Now you have the ability to see where convicted sex offenders reside with an exact address and use this important information to protect your family. I continue to be a leading voice on public safety issues given my background as a deputy district attorney and police officer. I was the state co-chair of the DNA Initiative (Proposition 69) and am now the state co-chair of the Jessica's Law Initiative which will protect us against sexual predators. The California State Sheriff's Association named me its outstanding legislator. Governor Schwarzenegger chose me to chair his High Risk Sex Offender Task Force. The Governor just signed into law my bill requiring day care centers to provide Megan's Law information to parents. Since becoming your Assemblymember, I have fought to pass responsible state budgets that reign in reckless spending. I have been able to stop new taxes. I have fought to protect small business owners and have driven down the cost of worker's compensation by voting for much needed reforms. The California Chamber of Commerce has scored my votes with its highest rating. I appreciate your confidence. If you have any questions, please contact me at http://www.toddspitzer.org . Thank you for your vote. |
