Laurel Nicholson

As a local resident, mother, and small business owner, Laurel understands the needs of the 66th District.

She is president of Nicholson Creative Group, a company that consults on all aspects of the employee/ employer relationship. Laurel has won over 30 awards for communication excellence.

With substantially more business experience than her opponents, Laurel served as a senior executive at a publicly-traded Fortune 500 Company. With over 25 years of business experience and proven entrepreneurial leadership, Laurel will work closely with the business community to bring jobs and new businesses to our region.

She is the co-author and editor of the book 401(k) Plans, printed by the Bureau of National Affairs in Washington, D.C.

Laurel has been recognized by the former Speaker of the State Assembly for her contributions to women in business. She is an Ambassador for the Murrieta Chamber of Commerce, and a member of many other Chambers and community groups including the Professional Women's Roundtable, Valley Center Museum Board, Hadassah, California NOW, NAACP, the Sierra Club and the San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy.

Currently, Laurel is the Democratic chair of the 66th assembly district and an elected Delegate to the Democratic Party of California.

A leader who will provide a fresh voice and open leadership, Laurel is campaigning on her "B.E.S.T." issues: Budget, Education, Security, and Transportation (see http://www.nicholson4assembly.com).

She is a graduate of Bowling Green State University in Ohio with a B.S. Degree in Journalism / Public Relations. Laurel is also a graduate of Leadership North County, a comprehensive community involvement program that fosters the growth of leaders who will serve as catalysts for a stronger community.

Laurel has the experience to bring our District the resources it needs and the leadership we deserve.
