I am a moderate Democrat who will work with the State's Democratic majority to bring our District the resources it needs.

I am a fiscal conservative, social progressive who believes we need to balance the budget without excessive borrowing.

I am campaigning on my BEST issues -- Budget, Education, Security, and Transportation.

Budget: We need to focus our resources on 1) our children's education, 2) providing our police and firefighters with the tools they need to fight crime and terrorism, and 3) attracting new jobs through an improved infrastructure.

Education: We need to reaffirm our support for Proposition 98 which guarantees a level of funding each year. We need to strive for smaller class sizes, and fully fund as well as amend the unreasonable accountability requirements for the No Child Left Behind legislation.

Security: Keeping our communities and families safe must be our number one priority. This means supporting our first responders with the tools and resources they need. It also means hiring more border patrol to secure our borders.

Transportation: A strong infrastructure is a necessity if we want to grow jobs in our region. We need better highways and more entrance/exit ramps in overcrowded areas. We also need to look at smart growth transportation hubs and innovative public transit alternatives.
