Closing Statement League of Women Voters Forum

Lively discussion, respectful listening and thoughtful and informed processing are all skills that our school district needs at all levels, from the classroom and playgrounds to the employee meetings up to our school board itself.

I believe we have wonderful, involved parents and community members. You have demonstrated that tonight with your attendance, your wealth of questions and the diversity of view points. If elected, I would work hard to bring open, communication to the district on all levels. Through working together we can create quality decisions.

I believe information is critical. I can only assume you share this view because you are here tonight , collecting information to cast your vote on November 7th.

If elected, I would make decisions based on adequate data. I would perform the necessary due diligence (yes, I would read 250 page documents) and work with my board colleagues to have the proper information, so that the board could step up to its responsibility to all of you + being accountable and providing leadership.

On November 7th, you cast your vote for the type of district leadership you believe will have the skills and focus to manage our assets wisely, establish open communication with our community including with other school board members and perform the due diligence needed. Steven McDowell, Annette Easton and I have this vision.
