Clark Williams is a social worker and non-profit executive management consultant with twenty years of experience working to improve the quality of life for families and communities.

A product of a large, hard-working, farm family, Clark maintains a core set of mainstream values that have always guided his personal and professional choices. Responsibility, integrity, honesty, generosity and fairness are not just election-year buzz words -- these are fundamental values instilled in Clark at an early age.

Clark has worked hard to contribute to his community. After earning a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin -- Eau Claire, Clark earned a master's degree from the prestigious New York University School of Social Work. During the past fifteen years, Clark has worked as a clinical social worker, as a chief executive officer of a women's healthcare non-profit organization and as a healthcare program manager with the Santa Clara County Public Health Department. In 2001, Clark was awarded the Alumnus of the Year Award from his undergraduate alma mater for his many career accomplishments and for his future promise.

Clark has never abandoned his roots as he works to build a better quality of life for all our families and for all our San Jose neighborhoods. In March, 2006, the San Jose City Council honored Clark with a commendation for his many years of volunteer public service to the residents of San Jose including:

  • City of San Jose Appeals Hearing Board, Member -- a seven-member board that hears code enforcement appeals of blighted conditions;

  • North Willow Glen Neighborhood Association, Vice President -- a highly-regarded active neighborhood association in San Jose;

  • Measure F Citizen's Bond Oversight Committee for the San Jose Unified School District, Member -- an independent body charged with oversight of $429 million in bonds to repair and rehabilitate local schools;

  • Citizen Watchdog Committee for the Measure B Transportation Improvement Program, Member -- a committee that reviews expenditures of more than $1.3 billion in tax revenues and conducts audits of the sales tax expenditures; and

  • City of San Jose Project Diversity, Member -- a city commission charged with promoting greater diversity in council appointments to boards and commissions.

In addition to Clark's appointed or elected public service roles, he is an active member of dozens of local non-profit organizations and associations. Clark has received numerous awards for his community leadership and was just awarded the Silicon Valley Community Top Dad award by the non-profit organization, Building Peaceful Families.

Clark lives in the north Willow Glen neighborhood of San Jose with his longtime partner, James Moore, and their three-year-old daughter, Caroline.
