Brea's Future Belongs to All of Us!By John BeaumanCandidate for Council Member; City of Brea | |

Elections are about shared values and open communications.Elections are about shared values between the voters and the candidate. That's why I have taken the time to routinely publish my position on the issues and the rationale for those positions. My monthly newsletter published since January 2003 is "straight talking" about every issue that affects Brea, because you have a right to know; and never resorts to political spin or political correctness. To do so, would only insult your intelligence, and you deserve better than that. Why the OC Register would continue to publish articles that misrepresent my position on the issues is beyond me. Serving the People of Brea remains my #1 priority. As an elected representative, my purpose in serving on the City Council and desire for a second term is not for political power or personal gain, but to continue serving the community of Brea to the best of my ability. The decisions made today cannot be short sighted or cater to special interests, but must keep in mind how they affects all of us now as well as future generations of Breans. I am confident that my record speaks for itself. Integrity is important to me, that is why I do not change my message depending on the audience; unfortunately, the voter would be better served if the OC Register published my position and not someone's misrepresentation of my position as they have been doing lately. My record and convictions have always been clear as evidenced by the contents in each issue of my monthly newsletter and website updates; all of which have consistently been in the best interest of our entire community--even during an election year. I have never proposed or supported eminent domain to take private property; why the OC Register continues to represent me as such, is false and misleading; bringing their own credibility into question, doing all of us a disservice--me as a candidate and you as a voter. Open Communications is an essential for good governance. I began publishing my monthly newsletter in January 2003, for the sole purpose of keeping Breans informed on topics and issues that affect all of us, and I respond to every question and comment sent to me by readers and residents. I also established a website in August 2005 to keep you informed (http://www.johnbeauman2.blogspot.com) And if reelected, I will continue to do so. Please visit my reelection website at: reelectjohnbeauman.blogspot.com I am asking for your vote on November 7th for my reelection. I hope to run a grassroots campaign, supported and funded mostly by the citizens of Brea. It would be an honor to have your campaign support early and your vote in November. Donations can be sent to my reelection committee as follows: Reelect Councilman John Beauman 824 Candlewood Street, Brea, CA 92821 Campaign ID# 1285598 State Campaign laws requires that you also provide the name of your employer and occupation.
