My number one priority is to preserve Brea's quality of life.
As I had stated on numerous occasions, my number one priority is to preserve Brea's quality of life. In February 2006, Sunset Magazine rated Brea as one of the five best places in the Western States to live and the only one in California to receive that distinction in that issue. The Brea Chamber of Commerce describes Brea as "The place to be!" and I am proud to have participated in making it so and of my record: such as the revitalization of South Brea Boulevard as a fitting gateway to Brea; support of the Brea Museum and Cultural Center to preserve Brea's history; efforts to mitigate traffic by widening streets and intersections, traffic-light synchronization to reduce delays; serving on regional agencies to seek traffic solutions that will make a difference on our streets; fulfillment of a long-held dream of Brea families for a Sports Park--with completion scheduled for mid-2007; and success in finding a site for a Brea Dog Park. I represent Brea on regional boards seeking state and federal funds to preserve open space for hiking trails, recreation and a place where all Breans can enjoy nature; respecting property rights, I have never advocated using eminent domain to obtain private property. My record is open as published in my monthly newsletter and on my website: http://www.johnbeauman2.blogspot.com. Walking the city during my reelection campaign as I had in 2002--going door-to-door asking for your feedback--about ninety-eight percent of the Breans I speak to rate Brea as a great place to live. If you share their opinion, please vote for me on November 7th.
