My wife, Lyn Shaw, and myself have been advocates for a system of healthcare that covers all Californians regardless of ability to pay. We have taken part in many actions over the past decades to try to get this position enacted into law.
From the steering committee of Prop 186 to Hilda Solis' SB40 to Senator Kuehl's SB840 we have, as a couple, and as individuals fought for Social Justicce on this issue.
Nothing demeens this society as much as the denial of treatment for illness or injury based on the economic status of the patient.
If the hunreds of millions to billions of dollars in Executive Salaries and Advertising for Insurance Companies were to be cut out every person in this country could have first rate, high quality health care without raising taxes or cutting care.
