HEIGHT LIMIT

By Micheal A. "Mehaul" O'Leary

Candidate for Member, City Council; City of Culver City

This information is provided by the candidate
I fully support the CULVER CITY 56-FOOT HEIGHT LIMIT for new development. As a Schaefer Street resident, I join my neighbors in STRONG OPPOSITION to the 152-foot high, 3200 seat theatre complex that is being proposed for the Hayden Tract area. We ask this developer to be a GOOD CORPORATE CITIZEN for the CULVER CITY RESIDENTS.

As good corporate citizens, SYMANTEC and the "new" WESTFIELD FOX HILLS SHOPPING TOWN have VOLUNTARILY AGREED to abide by the 56-foot limit.

  • EXAMPLES OF GOOD CORPORATE DEVELOPMENT:

The SYMANTEC RESEARCH and PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT building complex is now under construction in Corporate Point, near the Fox Hills Mall.

SYMANTEC will bring much needed ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT and some 1500 to 2000 employees to Culver City.

SYMANTEC has VOLUNTARILY AGREED to abide by the Culver City height limit of 56 feet - eventhough their site qualified for an height exception being in the redevelopment zone that existed prior to the enactment (by the CULVER CITY VOTERS) of the 56-foot height limit.

This large Corporate Point parcel, next to the 90 Freeway, had been siting vacant for more that 30 years.

When completed and operating, the SYMANTEC employees will have ready access to the exciting "new" WESTFIELD FOX HILLS SHOPPING TOWN that has been approved by our City Council.

WESTFIELD FOX HILLS has also VOLUNTARILY AGREED to comply with the Culver City 56-foot height limit.
