I WISH TO BUILD A PUBLIC HIGH SCHOOL IN HILLSBOROUGHCANDIDATE STATEMENT FOR STANLEY G HILTON, CANDIDATE FOR HILLSBOROUGH SCHOOL DISTRICT GOVERNING BOARD NOV 8 2005 ELECTION OCCUPATION: EDUCATOR/ATTORNEY/AUTHOR EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS: I am an educator, attorney and author, and live in Hillsborough with my wife and triplets, who will be attending Hillsborough public schools. I have an MBA from Harvard Business School, JD from Duke and BA from University of Chicago, have taught and developed curriculum at university and elementary-high school levels, and have been listed in "Who's Who in American Education, America and American Law." If elected, I will improve and expand school curriculum to prepare students for successful careers by inculcating in them a love of learning, critical and creative thinking, computer ability and the desire to succeed in life. If elected, I pledge work hard to build a new public high school in Hillsborough, so that our students can enjoy the unique excellence of our public schools through Grade 12. Our children need a high school near home, directly accountable to our town's residents. We should not have to send our children off to high schools in other cities, while our property taxes are given by the County to other cities, to finance their own high schools at our expense! "Bring our Children Home to Hillsborough High School." DATE: 8/5/05 ______________________________ STANLEY G HILTON |
