Candidate for
Governing Board Member; UPLAND Unified School District

I am 49 years old and have been married to my husband Neil for 23 years. We are the parents of one son Daniel, who is now a senior at Upland High School.

I am currently a housewife. Previously, I spent over 20 years in the banking and healthcare industries, most recently as a lead systems analyst at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. I have an honors degree in economics and an MBA.

I was born in Michigan and grew up there and in small-town New England. My husband and I moved to Upland when our child was in sixth grade. We chose Upland for our new home so our child could take advantage of this district's excellent schools.

As the parent of a student who has attended Sycamore Elementary, Pioneer Junior High and Upland High Schools, I have had the opportunity to observe our district at all educational levels. As a member of various volunteer groups, I have chaperoned field trips, baked cookies, proctored exams, prepared meals, stuffed envelopes, sold Valentines and been privileged in many other ways to participate in the lives of Upland students. I am proud of our district and would like the opportunity to work to make it even better.
