Roads and traffic patternsBy Dorothy "Nesbitt" NesbittCandidate for City Council Member; City of El Dorado Hills | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Roads must be planned so that citizens can get to and from work and our children can get to school and outdoor facilities easily and safely. The congestion at Hwy 50 and El Dorado Hills Blvd. is a nightmare and will only continue to get worse if not addressed quickly. As a city we will be able to sit at the table with the highway planners from the state to discuss future improvements to alleviate that intersection and the design of future over/underpasses and access roads. We will be able to form partnerships as we search for federal grants and apply firm pressure on funding sources to ensure that our needs our met in an appropriate time frame. Improved infrastructure is necessary to allow cars to move easily through all parts of the city. New or widen access roads and improved signalization will relieve internal traffic congestion. Beautification projects will make the journey to and from destinations a pleasant experience. It will not happen overnight, but a local government adopting good planning policies with a fiscally sound budget will greatly improve ourchance for success. |
