Land Development

By Dorothy "Nesbitt" Nesbitt

Candidate for City Council Member; City of El Dorado Hills

This information is provided by the candidate
I believe it is essential to have local control over the planning for housing, parks, recreational facilities, open space, etc.
El Dorado Hills has a spirit and values that definee it as family-based community. Local control is the only way we can be satisfied that the wishes of our citizens are being heard. This means local elected officials holding local meetings to hear the desires and concerns of the local citizenry and then establishing and prioritizing goals that can be implemented in a cost-efficient and timely manner.

One of the first tasks will be to develop a General Plan and I want to make sure that everyone has a voice in the process. I believe that, as we listen, debate, refine and educate each other, a plan will come forth with elements of compromise that will make us all partners in the planning of our community.

Housing must be balanced to provide opportunity to all those desiring to live here--seniors with limited resources, people seeking entry level positions in the growing commercial base, our adult children coming "home" as well as families of all sizes and ages. Parks, playfields and recreational centers must be scattered throughout the area so that children and adults have adequate places to meet, walk, play or simply enjoy the out-of-doors.
