Public Safety

By Bob J. Marshall

Candidate for Council Member; City of Newark

This information is provided by the candidate
Public Safety and the maintanence of our superb police and fire organizations should be priority number one.
Public Safety is a fundamental aspect of my campaign, and the maintenance of Newark's high quality Public Safety staff and management will be my first priority. We must find ways to maintain this function, even in the face of budget cuts. Public Safety should be the last place where any cuts should be made. I will also work to find better ways to deal with youth gang problems, I would propose a city sponsored fireworks demonstration (in order to better deal with illegal fireworks), and I would propose additional funding for gang intervention programs already proposed by our Police Department administration.
