I am a life-long resident of the San Francisco Bay Area, having grown up in Hayward and moving to Livermore in 1985. My wife and I have two sons, one who graduated from and the other still attending Livermore schools. I work in Fremont as a Senior Water Quality Chemist for the Alameda County Water District where I have worked for over twenty years.

It has been an honor and a privilege to have served as your representative on the Zone 7 Board of Directors for the last 15 years. In that tme, Zone 7 has almost doubled our water entitlements, added new wells and groundwater storage, making our supply more secure in times of drought. Our combination of multiple sources, wells and surface water treatment plants, makes Zone 7's water system one of the most reliable in the State. Recently, Zone 7 was nationally recognized by the EPA and the national American Water Works Association when it was awarded the "Partnership for Safe Drinking Water Award", which placed Zone 7 in the top one per cent of water districts in the nation. I am proud of the hard work and dedication from our staff that this award represents.

The time is now right for me to bring the leadership and consensus-building skills that I have developed over the last 15 years to our Livermore City Council. I have been able to bring disparate groups together and achieve significant benefits for Livermore and for the region. Zone 7 has become one of the top agencies in the country and it is now my goal to make Livermore one of the best cities in the country. It can be done by working together for the common goal of making our community better before we make it bigger.

I recently served on Livermore's General Plan Review Committee, focusing on transit-oriented, in-fill development with a variety of housing types, including affordable housing for first time buyers and for young families.

I am also a founding member of Livermore's Commission for the Arts. The new Performing Arts Center and town square will be the linchpin for downtown's revitalization. The new theater will provide opportunities for residents of all ages to participate, create or spectate. Good things are happening in Livermore and I will keep up the momentum. bringing activities for all ages.
