Throughout my fifteen years in elected public office, my record proves that my only special interest has been the best interests of the community that I was elected to serve. I derive no income from developer or property-related interests. As I have proven over the past fifteen years on the Zone 7 Board, new development must pay its own way. It should provide benefits to the current residents and not be subsidized the current residients.

A top priority of mine will be transit oriented development near established infrastructure to reduce traffic congestion and to protect rural open space from sprawl. I respect the vast majority of the 31,000 Livermore residents who, in a recent city-wide poll, supported the preservation of viticulture, our scenic hillsides, and the open space surrounding our city. I share that passion and will work to encourage viable agriculture to protect Livermore's exceptional quality of life and unique values.

Four times in the past, the voters have said, "No" to development in North Livermore. I am listening to the voters and will ensure that the voters are not left on the hook to subsidize services after the developers are gone.
