It will be my top priority to eliminate the AES Power Plant.Redondo Beach could be the gem of the L.A. beaches, but it is being contaminated by the old, outmoded, power plant. It is visual pollution at the very least, and many think that the electric lines cause various other types of pollution and possibly injuries. Every time that I look out at the Redondo Beach harbor, the first thing that catches my eye is the monsterous AES Power Plant. Every time that I drive down 190th St., the most prominant thing in sight is the AES Power Plant - and the huge high voltage lines that run to it. Something needs to be done to eliminate that blight on our neighborhood. Governments have used their power and influence for many years to eliminate such problem areas, and we could turn that land into more recreational areas for all citizens of Redondo Beach to enjoy. It will be my top priority to eliminate the AES Power Plant, and to turn that area into a recreational area of which we can all be proud. |
