Milton Marks III served as Executive Director of Friends of the Urban Forest from 1997 through 2003. Previously, he worked in an executive capacity with non-profits that addressed historic preservation, affordable housing, and social service issues. Milton earned his MS degree in Historic Preservation from the University of Pennsylvania and his AB degree in History from Bowdoin College. In addition to his service as Vice President of the Board of Trustees of City College of San Francisco. Milton's community activities include Treasurer of the National Alliance for Community Trees, a member of the Tree Advisory Board of the San Francisco Department of Public Works, Vice Chair of the San Francisco Urban Forest Council, and a member of the Jewish Community Relations Council.
