Santa Barbara County, CA | November 2, 2004 Election |
The Council and the Planning Committee must be two separate entitiesBy Jean W. BloisCandidate for City Council Member; City of Goleta | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
The City Council must form an independent Planning Committee to review plans and make recommendations to the Council. The City Council of Goleta, unlike most cities, has not designated a Planning Committee to review plans and to work with residents wishing to make modifications to their properties. Instead, they have retained absolute control and denied residents the benefit of the diversity of opinion that would result from more citizen involvement. It is time to appoint a Planning Committee to assist in guiding change within our city limits.I will press for this procedural change. |
