Start Pahse 1 of the Transit Oriented DevelopmentBy Scott P. BradyCandidate for Member, City Council; City of Placentia | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
The revitalization of the Old TOwn area has begun with the sale of city property and the proposed construction at Bradford and Santa Fe. But this is just the first step in a quest to create a trasit-oriented development in the heart of our city. With the support of the city council, TOD Properties is prepared to build a Metrolink train station, affordable housing,a bus depot, retail establishments, and additional commercial space. The cities around Placentia have made the difficult decisions that come with redevelopment, and we must do the same. It may not be easy to make the changes that come with this redevelopment, but it is necessary. We can do nothing and allow this area to remain underutilized and largely avoided, or we can make it a destination point for our community. |
