Full Biography for Joseph "Joe" Aiello, Jr.

I was born at the Monterey Hospital, approximately 1 block from city hall. My father and mother are Italian born and had met in Monterey. I spent many days as youth with my grandparents in oldtown. Both sets of grandparents living at the opposite ends of city hall. My greatgrandfather and grandfathers fished the waters of Monterey Bay and beyond. Colton Hall easily became my favorite historic building. My first real job was working for Ann and Harley Sutter at The Poppy as a dishwasher. As a Monterey High School student I managed to hold on to fulltime job and still make time for extracurricular activities like football and band. I graduated from MHS as one of the top students. That same year my father became very ill and died during the holidays. I was unable to enjoy the freedom of thinking towards the future. Home and business responsabilities became an issue with his death. |
