- Sometimes the most important part of the education equation gets overlooked. We can worry about the budget, about labor contracts, about building new facilities, about the cost of asbestos remediation, about any of a dozen "major crises"--but what about the kids? They are the reason schools and teachers and superintendents and principals and secretaries and all the other support staff exist.
- Our duty as responsible adults is to keep the focus on the kids. To make their education our top priority. And I'm speaking of an excellent education. Some day, when we've all retired, our kids will be the ones who are in charge; that means they'll be running the most powerful country in the world. We owe it to them to prepare them for the challenges they are sure to encounter in the future. We owe it to them to prepare them for a far more complex life than the one we currently live.
- We cheat them and those who follow them if we don't focus on their education today.
- If I am elected to the School Board, I will ensure that our primary responsibility is to our children: I will keep the focus on the kids.
