- The El Dorado Union High School District is blessed with one of the best staff of teachers and support personnel in the state. The proof is in the consistently high ratings our high schools receive each year. Without dedicated teachers and hardworking support staff, the education process is degraded. It's simply good management to publicly acknowledge superior performance. But more than that, it's a demonstration of respect.
- Our teachers and classified staff love the kids, and they love their job. They routinely go the extra mile without having to be asked, and without expecting a reward. However, they do expect to be appreciated, respected and trusted. When the Board of Trustees assumes that teachers and classified personnel will "volunteer" their time, then they have begun to take unwarranted advantage of the inherent goodwill of their staff.
- There should be only one team in this district, and it should be made up of the teachers, the support staff, and the Board of Trustees. It's the responsibility of the Board to ensure that team spirit is encouraged and maintained. Trust and respect the members of the team, and they'll get the job done.
- If I am elected to the School Board, I pledge to always keep in mind how hard our teachers and support staff work to give our students the best possible education. I will respect their dedication, and I'll tell them about it.
