Top Priorities if Elected

Recruit and retain qualified medical practitioners for the Valley in the areas of pediatrics, geriatrics, gero-psychiatry and HIV/ infectious diseases
Improve access and affordability to healthcare for uninsured and underinsured
Reestablish a gero-psychiatric facility in the Valley

Position Papers

Healthcare Accessibility and Affordability: There are large numbers of citizens of the Coachella Valley with little or no insurance. Greater efforts need to be made to assure these individuals have access to quality care.
Address unmet health service needs: There is a dearth of qualified healthcare professionals in the Coachella Valley, particularly in the areas of Pediatrics, Geriatrics, Psychiatry, and HIV/AIDS.
Increase Coordination and Collaboration of Healthcare-related Services and Programs: The Healthcare District needs to take a greater role in the coodination and collaboration of health-related programs and services, particularly with the Desert Healthcare Foundation.
