Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Elizabeth Scott Donnelly

Candidate for
Auditor; County of Riverside

This information is provided by the candidate

Statements issued by the current administration of the Auditors office, "We have had our budget cut", and "We have been short staffed", imply that in the coming years, when budgets will be especially tight, the errors will continue. You deserve proper accounting for your tax dollars, not excuses.

I will apply my twenty two years experience in auditing and accounting management to transform the auditors office into an efficient operation that is responsive to the taxpayers of Riverside County. My top priorties are: 1) eliminate errors by instituting a series of checks and reviews on all work 2)Begin an in-house training program to maximize the productivity of the current staff. 3)Create a system of auditing and reporting that will insure that all county departments are audited every two years as required by county statutes. Currently there are departments that haven't been audited for 6 years and 4) Restore the public trust in the auditor's office by producing timely and accurate information.
