Candidate StatementBy Joe SotoCandidate for Council Member; City of San Juan Capistrano; 2 Year Short Term | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Here is why I am running for San Juan City CouncilAs a life-long resident and small business owner, I am committed to helping our city maintain its historical significance and protecting our small town quality of life. After attending Cal Poly Pomona, and serving in the California National Guard, I returned home to San Juan in 1971 and began The Soto Company, a landscaping firm employing 150 local residents. As your councilman I promise to make decisions that benefit our residents. I will oppose the use of public land to build a Home Depot and encourage other options that will benefit our residents. I will take a proactive stance on our traffic problems and demand a traffic solution be developed immediately. There is an immediate need for a new local public high school, and as a father of four and advocate of education I will work hard to see our public school system continue to thrive. I am the past director of several organizations including the South County Community Clinic, San Juan Capistrano Community Task Force, Boy's & Girl's Club, Rotary Club, Mission San Juan Capistrano Finance Board, and current Chairman of the San Juan Water Advisory Board. I would be honored by your support. |
