I was born in Bakersfield and attended local schools. After returning from college at UC Santa Barbara, I worked for ten years as an agricultural advisor and consultant. For the last twelve years, I have worked in environmental compliance and environmental cleanup.

Marilyn and I have been married for 21 years and we have a daughter at Stockdale High School and a son at Leo B. Hart Elementary School.
