Native of Santa Barbara born in 1952. I spent the next 10 years of my life growing up on a small working walnut ranch that supplemented the family income. Every member of the family worked on bringing in the crops and caring for the sizable raft of animals. As I grew older it was the usual thing to work on your neighbors' ranch when the work on our ranch was done. (to this day I think that most teen age delinquency would go away if only adults would insist on their charges doing some work in their after school hours. Luxury and laziness breed trouble! Drugs were unheard of in this environment. I was pleased to attend a public school where my friends were black, latino, and southerners from the oil fields of Oklahoma. There were all kinds of people. I naturally learned a kinship for all other people. I attended a great Catholic HS, was elected senior class president. I attended local university in political science and was political science editor. A highlight was interviewing Gov. Reagan in 72. Then a successful 27 year in real estate. Marriage. Two daughters who harped for BUSH!
