Downtown Drain Storm Problem

By Leonard M. Surratt

Candidate for Council Member, Chair 5; City of Modesto

This information is provided by the candidate
Chemical Bonding Agents for Repair.
In my visit to the City's Maintenance Manager, we discussed the best way to repair some of the collapsed storm drains in and around our downtown area. An interesting repair method was brought up. The City maintenance Manager feels that we can chemically treat some of these storm drains with an apoxy type compound, that would last up to a 100 years. This would be very cost effective for the City. In addition to being cost effective, the project could have a quick completion time, which would enable us to move forward on our downtown development projects. It is my understanding, that the City of Turlock, has put their downtown redevelopment on fast track. I think that they are doing a really good job in their redevelopment efforts and we should take note.
