GOALS and MPC IMPROVEMENTS: "With The People....For The People"
GOALS

My goals as an MPC trustee are as follows. They mirror those of MPC itself. Continue being accountable for BALANCED budget and expenditures.

Assure adequate funding for ALL programs and support their excellence.

Enhance faculty and staff compensation.

Increase faculty and staff diversity.

In cooperation with the community, continue being accountable for MPC's fair share of Fort Ord conveyance land.

Increase use of technology by faculty, staff and students. Increase community participation and continue to support the MPC Foundation.

Introduce a baccalaureate program and offer economical educational training.

IMPROVEMENTS

The MPC improvements in which I was instrumental are as follows: Successful implementation of a salary adjustment formula.

Strong academic and vocational programs that secured full accreditation to 2004 Renovation of the Foreign Language Learning Lab

The purchase of the Armory Building

Community outreach programs: ESL, Summer Quest, EOPS, CalWorks and many others

Successful revision of a shared governance model for MPC

The new 60,000-square-foot Library Technology Building, which will offer library services and technology support. For the first time in 33 years the College has received a grant in the amount of over 20 million dollars.

Ensured grant funding for a new Children's Center

Organization of a Task Force to provide overall focus for diversity efforts

The Marine Advanced Technical Education Programs

The Football Program, which has recovered to become a positive component of the campus

Effective marketing, which gained the highest ranking of 54%, excellent, for the college in a recent survey

The MPC Foundation's success as a fundraising entity that has helped enhanced the image of the college in the community
