Dave Speak Blessed by Supportive Family
Julia Speak has a wry sense of humor which she inherited from her dad.
Emily Speak's love of reading developed in
part out of the family practice of bedtime
reading -- a ritual in which Emily participated right up to her Senior year at Claremont High School, when the press of homework and activities finally prevailed.
Margaret Speak is absolutely comfortable at public activities -- a condition which she developed while sitting on her dad's lap at school board meetings and running around her mom's office.
As for Beverly -- well, let's just say that
perhaps after this election campaign, Dave may
be able to stop having to introduce himself as
"Beverly's husband." The candidate himself
has said that he argued for signs that displayed
only the family name in hopes that a certain
number of voters would presume that Beverly is
running and lend their support on that basis.
In lots of ways the candidate's best qualities
are reflected in his family. He's funny. He's a
quick study. He's at home in public places. And
he's got Beverly's example of community
service to keep him humble. He's the right
person for the school board this election.
