Would vote to eliminate Check Points.I believe the Constitution is being violated by these check points. Citizens should not be stopped without cause. I have watched the checkpoints back-up traffic for over a mile and even though it is to be a random stop it is not.I believe that profiling is being done which, is wrong. I was nearly rear ended in one of these stops and it is only a matter of time when some one will start a shoot out and Citizens are going to be killed. These stops are being done because the State is providing the funding not Oceanside. I want the Police to protect and serve not spend time doing specially funded projects. I have a neighbor who suffered a house break in and it took Oceanside PD 3 1/2 hours to respond. |
