My Friends and Neighbors,

As a third generation Huntington Beach Family since 1921, I have always felt especially fortunate to have grown up in the most beautiful, ideal community anyone could have ever wished. I have traveled all over the world, and have found less than a handful of locations that "compare" to our special community. We had the best of all worlds; a "Top Notch" Education (California was in the top three in the Nation); a small town where we knew everyone; a safe, healthy, and sheltered community in which to raise children and enjoy leisure time; religious community; cultural events; world renowned visitors, best surfin' waves and surfers in the world (comparable to Sunset Beach, Ohau), and great ambiance, amidst the best food grown in the surrounding agricultural areas.

This foundation gave me Professional Preparation, Social Abilities, and Strengths to achieve many accomplishments in volunteer, religious, and professional arenas. In giving back to what a community has provided for me, I consider it an honor to represent you in public service as your next Council Person in City Government. I will work hard for YOU, with the Dedication, Commitment, Expertise, Care, and Concern that I have demonstrated in my Lifetime of Commitment and Service.

I would sincerely appreciate your support and your vote!

As an aside, I used to work in Waite's Drug Store, on 201 Main Street, 1963-1966, serving food and sodas at the Soda Fountain, paying my own way through college. Noble Waite was a City Councilman and I was fortunate to meet many politicians, including Congressman Hannah.

George Farquhar, Local News, was a regular customer as were Ted Barlett and various other local figures. Another regular customer was a Japanese movie star who played in the film, "Pork Chop Hill," with Gregory Peck. I was an avid swimmer, surfer, and all-around athlete and held a record at HB Recreation Center for 25 Years (1959-1984). If Scholarships had been offered to young women like they are today, I'm certain I would have received a "Full-Ride" to a University. Fortunately, I had great job experiences working and paying my own way through college.
