Preserving Basic Freedoms is my constant priorityBy Jeff BosshardCandidate for Judge of the Superior Court; County of Santa Cruz; Office 4 | |

Our Bill of Rights are limitations on the power of government, and the courts are your last line of defense.A Judge's bad judgment can cost you everything -- your life, your liberty, your property, your family!! A Judge has to be independent, and appear independent, or no one will respect the process nor accept the judgment. Too many defendants in criminal courts believe the Judge in on the side of the prosecution. I have never worked for the District Attorney, the County Counsel, or any other government agency. For over 31 years I have been an independent lawyer in the private practice of law, attempting on a case-by-case basis to preserve essential freedoms -- life, liberty, and property. With this truly independent background it is inconceivable that I would ever want to violate anyone's rights under the First, Second, Fourth, Fifth, or any other of the first Ten Amendments to our Constitution. Rather, I see it as my job to preserve and protect these rights. Only in this way can we ensure a balance between the power of the state and the freedoms of the individual. My 31 years of experience are your protection from bad judgments. |
