Political Philosophy for Ken HortonCandidate for |
http://www.homestead.com/agourahills/citycouncil99.html My basic philosophy is based on the principle that people involved in relationships should have three or more things in common. The more things people have in common, the better chance the relationship has to survive. A basic relationship can survive if the people involved in the relationship are bound together by the invisible strings of mutual trust, mutual integrity and mutual purpose. If any one of these three strings is broken, the relationship is doomed to fail. A governing body and the people being governed form a relationship. The City Council in Agoura Hills and the people who live here have a fundamental relationship. But, I'm not sure this relationship is based on mutual trust, mutual integrity and mutual purpose. How many of the people, who sit on the Agoura Hills City Council, can say with conviction that they have nothing to hide from the people who live in Agoura Hills? How many Agoura Hills city council persons can say, without reservation, that the citizens of Agoura Hills really know everything there is to know about the new City Hall Complex? (There are other issues - many more.) |
