Full Biography for Ken HortonCandidate for |
Ken Horton has lived in Southern California since 1973. He attended Santa Monica College and UCLA. Ken and his family moved to Agoura Hills in the summer of 1988. Since then, he has found spare time away from his busy work schedule to do volunteer work with various community organizations. Ken says, "It's important to take an active role in the community development process. Too often people are unaware of the wonderful things that are going on around them. The business of life gets in the way of experiencing life." Mr. Horton and his wife Joanne feel very strongly about developing very positive family values and mintaining close family ties. They have five adult children and two grand-children. Ken believes that the community is an extension of his home and his neighbors are an extension of his family. "What happens in our community affects us all, he says. We need to make sure that what happens here is what "we" want to happen. If we are not involved in the decision making process and we allow others make decisions for us, we deserve what we get." There are two ways to get involved in the decision making process. ONE: Attend city council meetings a few times a year or view them on television. Make comments and offer suggestions about the issues. TWO: Elect a city council person who will keep you informed about all of the issues that transpire at city hall; not just the positive issues. |
