MORENO VALLEY HAS AN IMAGE PROBLEM

I believe that by improving our Public Safety programs we can change our poor image outside our city, this will help us attract more JOBS. Crime is NOT as high as people outside our city think ours is-but by increasing and improving our Police Department, we can instill in all our residents a sense of security and feeling of being "safe". THIS WILL IMPROVE OUR IMAGE AND HELP ATTRACT BUSINESSES!

OUR NEIGHBORHOODS NEED CLEANING UP!

Abandoned shopping carts, vacant, weed-strewn homes, trash, broken windows-these things attract the wrong kind of element into our neighborhoods and breed crime.

I will increase Code Enforcement, cleaning up the troubled spots, and keep it that way! This will raise property values and make our city more attractive to the investors and potential businesses looking to come here.

We have been successful with our Anti-graffiti program, we will be successful with neighborhood cleanup too!

We recently extended the POP (Problem Oriented Police) program to ALL of the city, not just the southern portion. These neighborhood police teams will work with code enforcement to rid our neighborhoods of the drug sellers, the gangs, and the noisy parties.

GROUP HOMES

Group homes are rapidly becoming a problem in Moreno Valley. The city has little or no control over these often unwanted homes in our residential neighborhoods. I intend to work hard to get the State law changed so the control of these homes is at the LOCAL LEVEL, not far away in Sacramento!

MARCH AIR FORCE BASE

As a voting member of the March Joint Powers Commission, I have been involved in the efforts to attract business and industry to the old March Air Base, and all the JOBS they provide. We obtained a 7.2 million dollar grant to widen and improve Oleander from the 215 highway to Indian street. This will open up the East Industrial area for commercial businesses(hopefully aviation-related). This will help bring more JOBS to Moreno Valley!

RECREATION AND PARKS

The new Hidden Springs Park (adjacent to Hidden Springs School) will be dedicated on October 23rd, at 1:30 PM. I worked hard to get this park completed, it is done.

GOLF COURSE

Poorman Reservoir will have a Golf Course soon! We signed a lease for the land with a Golf Course Development company, and construction should begin soon. This WILL BEAUTIFY THE AREA AND IMPROVE OUR PROPERTY VALUES THROUGHOUT THE NORTH END!!

FIRE STATION TO BE MOVED NORTH

Fire Station #2 (Sunnymead Blvd.) will be replaced by a newer, larger station (which can hold the Ladder Truck) and the location of the new station should be on the NORTH side of Highway 60, improving fire response North of the freeway!
