Ten Last Minute Tips
on Voting
- Haven't received or can't find your Sample Ballot?
Go to http://smartvoter.org
"Find My Ballot"
Enter your street address and zip code to create YOUR
personal ballot and find YOUR polling place.
- You have the right to cast a ballot if you are a
valid registered voter.
- Have an absentee ballot but haven't mailed it yet?
Absentee ballots must be received at your elections
office on or before Tuesday, March 2 by 8:00 P.M.
You may hand deliver your absentee ballot to ANY polling
place in the county in which you are registered.
- Showed up at the polling place but your name is not
on the voting roll? You have the right to cast a provisional
ballot. You have the right to find out whether your
provisional ballot was counted and if not, why it was
not eligible, so that you can correct your registration
status before the next election.
- You have the right to cast a secret ballot free from
intimidation.
- Make a mistake on your ballot, PRIOR to casting your
ballot? You have the right to receive a new ballot.
- You have the right to receive assistance in casting
your ballot, if you are unable to vote without assistance.
- Present and in line at the polling place before the
polls close? You have the right to cast a ballot.
- You have the right to ask questions about election
procedures and observe the elections process. However,
if persistent questioning disrupts the duties of the
precinct board or election officials, they
may discontinue responding.
- You have the right to report any illegal or fraudulent
activity to a local elections official or to the Secretary
of State's Office.
