Web White & Blue 2000, a nonprofit, nonpartisan project
of the Markle Foundation designed to highlight the ways
in which the Internet can expand and enhance citizen participation
in our nation's democratic process, recently featured Smart
Voter at http://www.webwhiteblue.org/.
Smart Voter, http://www.smartvoter.org,
is also featured as a nonprofit voter guide on Web White
& Blue's State by State Directory. Here you find reliable,
nonpartisan, state-level voting information on the Internet,
offered by official state election agencies and nonprofit
organizations.
Smart Voter, produced by the League of Women Voters of California
Education Fund, is a charter member in Web White & Blue,
which made its debut in 1998.
The centerpiece of Web White & Blue is an historic event
the first online presidential debate. The "Rolling
Cyber Debate" features daily exchanges among the presidential
campaigns and responses to questions submitted by Internet
users.
Web White & Blue is a nonpartisan consortium of 17 of
the largest Internet sites and news organizations that have
come together to highlight the potential of the Internet
to expand citizen participation in our democracy. The sites
include major portals and news organizations which together
reach more than 85% of the total U.S. Internet audience.
That's nearly 70 million Americans every month.
