Please Reach-out!Hard for me to believe, but 4 years have gone by, and it is time for me to run for my position on the San Mateo County Community College Board. It was with serious thought, and consultation with my husband; Frank that I decided to ask the voters to grant me another 4 years. I am so proud of our Community Colleges here in our County. We are actually the only public college in San Mateo County. We provide access to so many who otherwise would not be able to develop pathways to work, and continuing education. The District really fosters "students first", and I truly support that statement. I am proud to support the best faculty, the most caring support staff, and provide top notch facilities. I am fortunate to be able to have a flexible schedule to visit programs, and see first hand the quality education our students receive. The best days are when our students receive a certificate, and or diploma. I never take for granted how difficult it can be for our students and I share in their joy of accomplishment. I am a strong supporter of the newly created Veterans Resource Centers on each campus and worked hard to bring Middle College High Schools to each College. The Community, Continuing, and Corporate Education Program, has grown with the goal to enrich lives and grow a career through exciting short courses and professional certificate programs. I am so proud of Skyline College for being selected as one of 15 in the state to grant a BA degree for Respiratory Therapy. We really serve students from High School and beyond. I hope you get the sense as to why I want to continue to serve the San Mateo County Community Colleges. I can not do it alone, and need the support and help from all I have met over the years.
