I will take real actionAs trustee, I will take action to ensure that the Skyline College, Canada College, and College of San Mateo, our 3 community colleges provide accessible, affordable and superior education for all learners and citizens for the real working world. Adult and working students who require internships in the corporate world should be able to attend any of the three campuses and apply for available internships. Th transition to Silicon Valley or bioengineering careers should be smooth and easy for our college students. High paying jobs are needed for survival in our County. We must ensure that we are preparing students for their needs and survival with such good paying and fulfilling jobs. There must be a link between the real world of college learning and real world work. I will work to help faculty and staff coordinate with students access to internships and potential employment opportunities. In addition, I will continue to advocate for online learning so that students can have alternate choices in their education mission and goals. We must work to take action and advocate for the 40,000 students and learners who are currently enrolled in the 3 colleges. We must also work to ensure future students receive the best educational choices for their careers or personal self-improvement goals. |
