1. Parts of Northern California have just been through devastating fires. Are we as vulnerable and are we well prepared?
Recent catastrophic wild land fires in Northern California counties point out that we are vulnerable. But through the District's "FIRESafe" and "defensible space" programs, we are working with residents to be prepared. On site brush inspection and cataloging are already underway. With the help of a recent grant together with the Tamalpais Community Services District, we can provide more chipper days and upgrade prevention activities. The District has adopted Wildland Urban Interface Ordinances to mitigate risk. As a Board member I will make this a priority.
