Emily Gabel-Luddy Emily Gabel-Luddy, Fellow, American Society of Landscape Architects, received a Masters of Landscape Architecture from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She is a 1990-91 Loeb Fellow at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Her public career in the Los Angeles city planning covered a variety of critical initiatives, including managing the preparation and adoption of the Citywide General Plan Framework Project and the Los Angeles/Design Action Planning Teams. In December 2006, she established the award-winning Urban Design Studio within the City Planning Department. She is the recipient of local, state and national awards for her public work in landscape urbanism. She is a Board member of the Los Angeles Neighborhood Initiative (LANI); a founding member of the Friends of Park 101 and currently lectures at University of Southern California in the graduate Landscape Architecture Program. While retired from the City of Los Angeles, she ran and won election to the Burbank City Council and served as Mayor last year where she continues to emphasize the return of nature to the city. |
