1. How would you prioritize the fiscal choices the Legislature must make to align the state’s income and spending?
(No candidates submitted answers to this question)
2. Given our current drought condition, concern for water rights and usage is an important issue. What solutions would you support to address our water problems?
Answer from Ling-Ling Chang:
I am the only candidate with experience in water policy. California's water crisis and drought are real. We should be the world's leader in using technology to manage the existing resources we have, as well as finding responsible opportunities to increase reliable water storage and delivery in California. And, instead of worrying about the 3-inch-long Delta Smelt, let's get water flowing to the Central Valley, so our multi-billion dollar agriculture industry can focus on feeding America.

3. California high school students rank lower than many states in student performance. What do you see as the ongoing role of the Legislature in addressing this problem?
(No candidates submitted answers to this question)
4. What other major issues do you think the Legislature must address? What are your own priorities?
Answer from Ling-Ling Chang:
I strongly oppose the $68 billion high-speed rail boondoggle as do most Californians. It's time to let the public vote on this issue again as voters have clearly changed their minds after learning more about what a gigantic waste of money it is.
