The Pacifica chapter of Sue's life story began in 1975 when Sue met Erick Digre while horseback riding in the Pacifica Quarry. They have been married thirty-seven years and have made Pacifica their home since 1990. They are the parents of four children and have five grandchildren. Public service is a family tradition passed on by Sue and Erick to their children. Their daughter is an emergency room nurse, the two oldest sons are both in the reserves after service in Afghanistan and Iraq-- one as pilot of a Blackhawk rescue helicopter and the other an Army Special Forces medic. Youngest son Scott is a proud graduate of Terra Nova's Special Education Program. As Director of Family Support Services at Parca, Sue provides practical and moral support for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families and is an advocate for them on issues of health, education, employment, transportation, housing and aging. Erick Digre is a longtime Red Cross volunteer who has served with disaster relief teams all over the United States.
