Construction & Design Agreement Signed at 10.6.14 Council MeetingComment from the New Times Article: I do. What makes us more competitive/attractive? Yep. It's quality of life. We can tie into Pacific Crossing and offer comparable speed and bandwidth. We are at the beach. We have affordable industrial land. 5 minutes to the train. 5 minutes to private airport. 5 minutes to the beach. 5 minutes to a 9 hole golf course. 5 minutes to Beach Front Hotel & Conference Center. Ocean Views from your Office. See the whales from your desk. (Really. I can see them from my balcony at 3rd and Grand.) Housing is one third of the price. Cal Poly. Wine Country. We're not Redwood City. We're not San Jose. We will never be Redwood City. We will never be San Jose. We have the same technology. In short, quality of life AND the technology. I guess if it's good enough for google and good enough for Santa Monica, Atlanta, Phoenix, Portland, San Antonio and San Jose it's good enough for us. Chattanooga spent $330 million installing their network. Ours is the cost of a $500,000 loan. Oh, and did I say we will recoup the $500,000 in 5 years with our franchise fees? |
