Candidate for
Councilmember; City of Paso Robles

I believe that Paso is a very special place + a pretty unique place. People move here because they want to experience the specialness of a small town, the sense of community that they couldn't get in the midst of urban sprawl.

That being said, I believe we have a challenge. Growth is inevitable. The challenge is to maintain or enhance our quality of life while still growing. We want a great place to raise our families or settle into retirement. We want to be able to earn a good living. We want the children of Paso to have the tools that they'll need as they become employees, entrepreneurs, parents and the future leaders of this community.

All of these things don't just happen by chance. Paso's leadership going forward must be visionary and willing to make some hard decisions to ensure a better Paso, not just a bigger Paso. The leadership needs a strong plan that has you and your family at the heart of it. They need to act on the plan and they need to be held accountable for the success of the plan.

As the first Director of Economic Development for the Paso Chamber, I am working every week to make our business community stronger and more successful. I don't just talk the economic development talk, I am walking the walk. I meet with business owners and executives to better understand their needs and challenges, so I know what's working and what's not working for them. I bring together the resources and create programs that a new business or growing business needs for success.

But I know that Economic Development is only half of the equation that leads to a better quality of life for you and everyone else in Paso Robles. Community Development is equally important. And Community Development requires long-term partnerships and efforts within Paso. I'm actively engaged in those partnerships and efforts.

Why am I qualified for a City Council seat? Because I bring business executive experience as well as entrepreneur and small business owner experience to the position. I'm a proud University of Michigan alumnus. Most of all, I'm a leader and doer and I'm engaged in the community!
