Political Philosophy for Scott Wooden
Candidate for |

|
Remember what it was like four years ago in Del Mar? We had gone through three superintendents in four years. We had lost all of our top administrative staff. The teachers, parents and community were in standing room only board meetings asking for change. Four years ago there was a change. Don't go back. Let's continue moving forward in that positive direction! During this term, we stabilized the district, hiring a top superintendent, who is focused on continuing education for the teachers. We lead the state and nation with our educational standards and instructional methods. Educators from around the world visit our district to learn about what and how we operate. We build partnerships with technology companies to drive 21st century leaning into the classrooms. Our teachers are the best in the state with the continuing education that we have provided. We developed a strategic plan, focused on educating for the future and forging a path for tomorrows innovative, global thinkers. We have a long-term vision for our facilities with detailed demographic information and a master plan. We now have a strong relationship between the board and the superintendent, staff, teachers and parents. I make all my decisions based on what is best for the students. I will continue to build and strengthen our educational standards. I will vote to maintain balanced budgets, to restore the reserve and to maintain fiscal solvency. Let's finish building what we started! |
